Crapology

Help

Everything you need to get going. Can't find it? Contact support.

Getting started

Install Crapology and open it. It asks to read Apple Health data such as sleep, heart rate variability and steps. Allowing that powers the Stress score and the sleep and activity trends, but everything else works without it. Then start logging. The more consistently you log, the sooner patterns show up.

Logging

Tap Log to record:

You can edit or delete any entry later from the log feed. Deleting an entry also deletes its photo.

Photo and AI drafts

When you add a photo, Crapology can send it for analysis and fill in a draft: for example a suggested Bristol type, or the ingredients and possible triggers in a meal. Nothing is saved until you review the draft and tap Save, and you can change any field first.

The photo goes through our server to the AI provider and is not stored on our server. Location and camera data are removed before it's sent. To keep everything on your phone, turn off AI analysis in Settings. You can still enter everything by hand.

AI drafts can be wrong. They describe what's possible, not a diagnosis. Review anything worrying, especially blood, with your doctor.

Trends charts your stress, sleep, fluids, bowel movement frequency, Bristol type, blood, symptoms, exercise and body composition. Pinch to zoom in on a period.

Insights looks for things that tend to come before changes in your symptoms, such as a food that keeps showing up a day before bad days, or a habit that lines up with good ones. It only shows links that repeat, so expect a few weeks of logging before anything appears. Treat insights as things to discuss with your care team, not conclusions.

Apple Watch

The Watch app installs with the iPhone app. Use it to quickly log a bowel movement or a symptom from your wrist. Entries sync to your iPhone automatically. The Stress complication shows your current score on your watch face.

Apple Health

Crapology only reads from Apple Health. It never writes to it. You can change what it can read at any time in the iPhone Settings app: Privacy & Security → Health → Crapology. Health data never leaves your device.

Backup, restore and moving to a new iPhone

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore to export an encrypted backup file with all your records and photos. You choose the passphrase. Without it the file can't be opened, and we can't recover it for you. Save the file somewhere safe, such as iCloud Drive or Files.

To restore, open Backup & Restore on the new install, choose Restore, pick the file and enter the passphrase. Restoring merges records, so restoring twice won't create duplicates. Backups from earlier versions of the app (.ucbackup files) restore too.

Doctor's report

Go to Reports to create a PDF covering a date range. It includes a summary, flare statistics, intake, charts and patterns, and can optionally add your full log and photos. You can password-protect the PDF before sharing it.

Subscription

Crapology includes a free trial, after which a monthly or yearly subscription unlocks AI drafts. Your logged data stays available whether or not you subscribe. Apple handles billing: to cancel or change plans, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Deleting your data

Your records live on your iPhone, so deleting the app deletes them. Export a backup first if you might want them back. Our server holds no health records to delete.
